Question by : Alcoholics / Narcotics Anonymous .. would you go if YOU didn’t feel you had a problem?
I’m in a custody battle with my ex-husband, and it keeps acquiring worse and worse – he has accused me of abusing drugs, becoming “unstable” and even produced up stories about my current boyfriend abusing me. Initial – he did not abuse me, EVER, and when called on his lie in court, my ex rescinded his accusation. Second – I don’t abuse drugs, legal or not. Third – there have absolutely been occasions of instability for me, mostly because he left 3 years ago. Upon his random drug tests, I tested good for benzodiazepines – which I knew I would due to the fact I was prescribed them and other meds for severe depression/anxiety, so of course I took them. I do not know how but he has convinced the mediator and judge that I have a drug difficulty, no matter what I can say and do to prove otherwise. OK, enough background – my question now is this: I’ve been court ordered to attend either AA or NA meetings, twice a week, for 52 weeks. I know I do not have a drug or alcohol problem, so does my family members, my boyfriend, my therapist, every person, but the judge didn’t care. I don’t know what to do about this – I want my son, of course, but if I don’t believe I need to have the programs how could it benefit me to go to these meetings? I obviously won’t be following their “12 actions” or participating the way they anticipate. Guidance? I am thinking that perhaps a letter from my psychiatrist would assist take this stipulation off of my court order? I also have to call a drug testing lab each and every day, and three random times a month they call me in to drug test. There are SO several hoops to go via, and I want to fight these lies. No doubt my son is worth it, but is there Something I can do?

Very best answer:

Answer by lady
You can appeal this courts choice and try to get the order rescinded…BUT…Till that happens you require to abide by the courts order or you will be in contempt of court and can be jail and/or fined.

Please Subscribe To The Evolution Documentary YouTube Channel: www.youtube.com Broadcast (2010) First Steps examines the factors that caused us to split from the other great apes. The program explores the fossil of Selam, also known as Lucy’s Child. Paleoanthropologist Zeray Alemseged spent five years carefully excavating the sandstone embedded fossil. NOVA’s cameras are there to capture the unveiling of the face, spine, and shoulder blades of this 3.3 million year old fossil child. And NOVA takes viewers “inside the skull” to show how our ancestors’ brains had begun to change from those of the apes. Why did leaps in human evolution take place? First Steps explores a provocative big idea that swings of climate were a key factor. Nothing is more fascinating to us than, well, us. Where did we come from? What makes us human? NOVA’s groundbreaking investigation explores how new discoveries are transforming views of our earliest ancestors. Featuring interviews with world renowned scientists, footage shot in the trenches as fossils were unearthed, and stunning computer generated animation, Becoming Human brings early hominids to life, examining how they lived and how we became the creative and adaptable modern humans of today. In the first episode, NOVA encounters Selam, the amazingly complete remains of a 3 million year old child, packed with clues to why we split from the apes, came down from the trees, and started walking upright.
Step 1 of 12: Your questions with Blake Harrison who plays Keith in STEP 9 (OF 12). STEP 9 (OF 12) is a macabre comedy that follows Keith, a recovering alcoholic, on the 12 step plan to recovery. A lifetime of drug and alcohol abuse has given him a lot to apologise for – particularly to the two individuals who raised him from a child. But as the memories of violence, betrayal, lies and recriminations are raked to the surface, it becomes clear that begging forgiveness for past actions can have shocking repercussions in the present. STEP 9 (OF 12) examines society at its darkest times in this new and provocative piece of theatre. Written by Rob Hayes Directed by Tom Attenborough Starring Blake Harrison (The Inbetweeners) as Keith with Wendy Nottingham as Judith, Barry McCarthy as Alan and Benjamin Dilloway as Mark.

Question by Bridge: Why do some individuals get angry more than religion at 12 step meetings?
Each now and then somebody shows up at a meeting and rails at the group about not addressing God in the usual Judeo/Christan way. They get all angry about people saying “Greater Energy” or “God as you understand God.” Why can not they just unwind, reside and let live? I’m sure that God doesn’t mind becoming known as: “Higher Power”.

I have been so high functioning all my life that it took a lifetime to get a excellent diagnosis. I attended EA a few occasions, but it wasn’t for me, at least not at the time. I checked out offerings at the VA, but it looked like a format not optimal for true peer assistance. If anyone knows of a good support group close to Clairemont, San Diego, please reply.

Freedom to learn what it is to be an emotional and spiritual getting… From getting stuck in the issue of addiction to finding the answer in addiction? Or is it that as we commence to comprehend the accurate nature of our issue, we can commence to realize what the solutions are on a everyday basis. Broadly the issues we face in addiction on an emotional and spiritual plane are very comparable, the solutions even so can be tailor-produced as every of us finds our path in beginning a new way of life… Steps 1 to three, understanding powerlessness and unmanageability, becoming restored to sanity on a day-to-day basis, letting go of holding on to a issue and prejudice to hunting for solutions.
