The app (mIRC) is examined in a debugger (Ollydbg) and the keygen algorithm is reverse-engineered. From this, a standalone keygen application is created. Hi folks! I’m back with my repaired HTC Desire S and I’ll be showing you how to get root access to the phone by making it “S-Off”. This should work on the following phones and devices: HTC Desire, HTC Desire S, HTC Wildfire, HTC Aria, HTC Incredible S, HTC Droid Incredible 2, HTC Thunderbolt, HTC Evo 4G, HTC View, HTV Flyer, HTC Sensation, HTC Evo 3D and the myTouch 4G What you will need: 1 HTC Desire S (It does work on the Desire too and others mentioned) 1 USB cable 1 PC 1 lemon What does S-Off mean? If your phone is S-Off it means you have access and can write to the NAND memory of the phone. This allows you to do things that you wouldn’t normally be able to do — such as rooting your phone and installing custom ROMs (firmware). Step 1: Go to revolutionary.io and download the Windows package (or Linux if you are on a Linux box). Unzip it to somewhere you can easily find (such as your Desktop). Step 2 Uninstall HTC Sync if you have it installed on your computer. This is just so that it doesn’t interfere with the S-Off process. Go to your Control Panel and then find Add/Remove Programs (Windows XP) or Uninstall a Program/Programs & Features (Windows Vista/7) and find HTC Sync in the list of installed programs on your computer. Click to remove/uninstall the application. Step 3: Turn off “Fast boot” on your HTC Desire S. This has to be disabled so you can boot into the recovery mode properly. Go to Settings on your phone and then Power. Now un-tick the Fast boot box to …

Good tutorials, only issue I am having with a program is there is no getdlg or senddlg :S Is there any others to search for? or do you think the programmer created a unique varible for dlg calls?

mIRC version 7.1 uses online activation so you will need to find the old version to follow the tutorial.

As for teh cracked version dont nop the JE instead go in the call change the first line of code to mov eax,1 second line your be RET. So the value of eax will always be 1. and the RET command retuns from where it came.
A lot of the things you do don’t seem to be possible in my version of Olly :S. Such as “Set breakpoint on every call…” and actually being able to search for the call.

thanks but i needded s-off i did it and another problem came i need hboot version 1.02.0002 or 0.80.0002 but thats fine. can i root by using unrevoked recovery reflash tool is this ok or will it brick my phone?

for some reason when i run revolutionary.exe it doesnt
find my phone. It stuck saying waiting for device. I unckeck fast boot
ckecked USB Debugging and everything but it just cant find my device.

* The thing that might be causing this problem may be that the phone is locked, because when i went to reboot my phone on the top it said ***LOCKED*** and it was highlighted in pink.

Hi again, I had to completely uninstall superuser as the phone went back for a repair. I couldn’t get s-on so I just left it. Now I got the phone back I can’t seem to get super user back on. Don’t suppose you know how to completely reset the phone so S is on. That way I can start from the beginning. Thanks

After I do this on my Sensation 4G, is there a way to un-root, so if I need to send in for service, I can do that?

@desirefanatic i need your help….i followed all the steps started but when i insert my beta key it says INVALID BETA KEY.. i also tried copying and pasting the keys ( without typing ) but still no luck…i also restored factory settings but no luck ….pls what do i do next

@316toke No the zip file doesn’t need to be extracted, just paste onto memory card. If it’s a .rar file un-rar it and make sure it’s a zip file instead
